\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n QURAN \r\n |
Translation:
\r\n- \r\n
- \r\n There \r\n are people who believe in fables and reject realities. \r\n Their brains are like a pair of scales, one side of \r\n which is heavy for no reason and thus cannot weigh \r\n correctly. There are some people who have studied \r\n continually, but when they are confronted with real \r\n life problems they grope around blindly. There \r\n are people among Muslims and non-Muslims, who \r\n spend twenty years trying to straighten their intellect, \r\n study and research, yet they are unable to reach the \r\n status of someone who was granted uprightness by Allah.\r\n
- \r\n The \r\n Prophet (peace be upon him) was of a special category \r\n of people who are clear-thinking and of keen perception. \r\n He was living with an open and wakeful heart \r\n in the depths of the desert; sober among drunkards \r\n and negligent people. His atmosphere was such that \r\n it nurtured the lethargy of the lethargic and the \r\n keenness of the keen, just as the sun's rays nurture \r\n the thorns side by side with roses. The degree \r\n of mental development which one reaches from constant \r\n observation is undoubtedly much higher than that of \r\n memorization without understanding or without discipline.\r\n \r\n
- \r\n
- \r\n The \r\n various levels of education are stages in a continual \r\n struggle to discipline one's mind and its faculties \r\n and to correct one's outlook on the universe and life. \r\n Thus any educational system which fails to take its \r\n students to this peak is not worthy of attention in \r\n spite of its beautiful certificates. What \r\n is much more worthy of being honored is that people \r\n should attain a high level of intelligence, and the \r\n capacity to think deeply, and have a clear \r\n vision of the means and ends.\r\n
- \r\n It \r\n is unfortunate to see today many Muslims study the \r\n Quran and Hadith on constant basis through Halaqas, \r\n study circles, conferences, books, scholars, audio \r\n and video tapes, and internet, yet this knowledge \r\n is rarely translated into their actions and doesn't \r\n touch the depths of their hearts.\r\n \r\n
\r\n HADITH- \r\n To Soften our Hearts [Ar-Riqaaq] \r\n |
\"What \r\n will be the way out then?\"
\r\n\"There will be dissensions (and arguments) after I have departed \r\n (so serious and perplexing) like a segment of a pitch-dark \r\n night,\" said the Prophet (peace be upon him) once.
\r\nUpon \r\n hearing that Ali bin Abi Talib (may be pleased with \r\n him) asked, \"What is the way out from them, O Messenger \r\n of Allah?\"
\r\n\"The \r\n Book of Allah: in it there are reports of the past, \r\n description of the future, and solution to your problems,\" \r\n the Prophet replied.

\r\n \r\n \r\n DAWA - Time to Come Out \r\n of our Boxes! \r\n |
Dawa \r\n (calling people to Allah) is an obligation, not \r\n an option. The \r\n Prophet (pbuh) said, \"Convey this Message, even \r\n if only one sentence (or verse)\" [Bukhari]. \r\n He also said, \"Learn the required precepts of Islam \r\n and the Quran, then teach to others, for I will \r\n not live forever\" [Bukhari]. Similarly, \r\n Allah commands us, \"There should be a number of \r\n you who actively call people to the righteousness; \r\n who encourage goodness and forbid evil. These are \r\n the ones who shall prosper.\" [Quran 3:104] \r\n This verse, in a nutshell, may be considered the \r\n \"Mission statement\" for a Muslim's role in this \r\n life.... \r\n [To \r\n be continued in the next issue]
