QURAN \r\n
\r\n
\r\n

Translation:

\r\n

"And \r\n when they tasted of the tree, their shame became visible \r\n to them, and both began to cover themselves with leaves \r\n from the Garden."

\r\n

[Al-Quran- \r\n Sura Al-Araf 7:22]

\r\n

Tafseer:

\r\n

MODESTY AND BASHFULNESS \r\n ARE INHERENT IN HUMAN NATURE

\r\n
    \r\n
\r\n
    \r\n
  • The primary manifestation \r\n of this instinct is seen in the sense of shame that one \r\n feels when one is required to expose the private parts \r\n of one's body in the presence of others. \r\n
  • According to the Quran, \r\n this bashfulness is not artificial, nor an outcome of \r\n advancement in human culture and civilization. Nor is \r\n it something acquired as some misguided thinkers contend. \r\n On the contrary, modesty has been an integral part of \r\n human nature from the very beginning.
  • \r\n
\r\n
SATAN'S FIRST STRATAGEM \r\n
\r\n
    \r\n
  • The sexual instincts \r\n of humans were taken by Satan as the most vulnerable aspect \r\n of human nature. Accordingly, he sought to weaken human's \r\n natural instincts of modesty and bashfulness. \r\n
  • This devilish stratagem \r\n is still followed by the disciples of Satan in our time. \r\n For them, progress is inconceivable without exposing woman \r\n to the gaze of all and making her strip before others \r\n in one form or another.
  • \r\n
\r\n
IT WAS NOT THE TREE... \r\n
\r\n
    \r\n
  • It was not any extraordinary \r\n qualities of the forbidden tree that had lead to the downfall \r\n of humans from their original state, rather it was human's \r\n disobedience to God. \r\n
  • This was a way of conveying \r\n to humankind of all time that humans will enjoy God's \r\n support and protection only so long as they remain obedient \r\n to Him.

HADITH- \r\n To Soften our Hearts [Ar-Riqaaq]

"Allah \r\n will not accept the excuse...."

Abu \r\n Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the \r\n Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Allah will not accept \r\n the excuse of any person whose instant of death is delayed \r\n till he (or she) reaches the age of sixty years." \r\n

\r\n
[Explanation: "I \r\n will start praying Salah and will do the Hajj \r\n (pilgrimage) when I get old," is a statement made \r\n by our parents and the adults, in probably every \r\n Muslim family today. Subhan-Allah! Does anyone \r\n of us know whether we will be able to live long enough \r\n in the first place? And even if we do live up to the age \r\n of sixty, what guarentee is there that all our previous \r\n sins will be forgiven by then, if we don't start practicing \r\n Islam now? That's why the Prophet (pbuh) warned us in this \r\n Hadith that such a person will not have the right to say \r\n on the Day of Judgment, "If Allah had given me another \r\n lease of life, I would have done good deeds," because \r\n he or she has been given a life long enough for him or her \r\n to do righteous deeds.] \r\n

\r\n Bringing Islam \r\n to the West and the West to Islam- Do we have any other \r\n choice?
\r\n
\r\n

\r\n
\r\n

"Indeed, \r\n you (Muslims in the West) have only THREE possible \r\n futures. First, to be assimilated \r\n and absorbed in the secular culture here (in the West), \r\n receiving in return, a niche where you can practice \r\n your private customs and festivals. Second, \r\n to face genocide or extermin-ation, like the Muslims \r\n in Spain and Bosnia, and the Jews in Germany. And Third, \r\n to bring Islam to the West and the West to Islam. Again, \r\n the choice is yours!...

\r\n

Being Muslims, \r\n desiring to live as Muslims, do you really have \r\n a choice? Certainly not. There is only one choice \r\n for you and it is quite obvious.
\r\n Make a resolve today... to cry out and carry on \r\n the message of the
\r\n Prophet, salla Allahu alayhi wasallam, from \r\n every home and market square, to every man, woman and \r\n child, so that they may live in true submission to their \r\n Lord..."

~~ \r\n Celebrating the Weddings ~~
\r\n
  \r\n
\r\n
You \r\n should celebrate the weddings with jubilation and associate \r\n your relatives and friends in these festivities. The Holy \r\n Prophet (peace be upon him) has permitted singing of some \r\n songs and playing of cymbals* on such occasions. This facilitates \r\n the expression of happy sentiments and also publicizes the \r\n marriage.
\r\n
  \r\n
\r\n
Ayesha \r\n (may Allah be pleased with her) married a lady of her family \r\n to an Ansar (people of Madina). When she was being \r\n sent to her husband's house, Holy Prophet (pbuh) remarked, \r\n "Why wasn't a slave girl sent to beat the cymbals \r\n and to sing some songs, in order to accompany the bride?" \r\n (Al-Bukhari).
\r\n
  \r\n
\r\n
When \r\n Rabi bint Muawwidh (may Allah be pleased with her) was being \r\n married, some girls sitting around her were playing the \r\n cymbals. They were singing verses praising their relatives \r\n who had sacrificed their lives in the Battle of Badr. \r\n A girl sang the following verse, "We have among us \r\n a Prophet who knows what is going to take place tomorrow." \r\n
\r\n
  \r\n
\r\n
Upon \r\n hearing this, and knowing that this wasn't true, the Prophet \r\n (pbuh) corrected her by saying, "Leave this. Sing what \r\n you were singing earlier." (Al-Bukhari) \r\n
